  • EMPIRE OF LIGHT, now in theaters

  • AS FAR AS THEY CAN RUN, winner of the Best Short Doc at the 23rd Annual Maverick Awards Ceremony that took place at the 2022 Woodstock Film Festival, is now streaming on Paramount+

  • Hulu Original Docuseries THE 1619 PROJECT, executive produced by WFF Board Member Roger Ross Williams and Oprah Winfrey, will premiere on January 26th. The six-part docu-series is an expansion of “The 1619 Project,” created by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones and The New York Times Magazine, and seeks to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans at the very center of our national narrative. The episodes are adapted from essays from The New York Times No. 1 bestselling “The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story” and examine how the legacy of slavery shapes different aspects of contemporary American life

2023 GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINATIONS

  • Amanda Seyfried received a nod for her performance at THE DROPOUT, on Hulu

  • THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN, nominated in seven categories, including Best Original Score, Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Motion Picture (Comedy), Best Performance by an Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress

  • TRIANGLE OF SADNESS received nominations in both Best Motion Picture (Comedy) and Best Supporting Actress

  • EMPIRE OF LIGHT’s star Olivia Colman was recognized in the Best Performance by an Actress category

  • Brendan Fraser received a nod for his outstanding Performance by an Actor in THE WHALE

Many films in connection to the Woodstock Film Festival will be screening at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, taking place in Park City, Utah, Thursday, January 19 through Sunday, January 29:

  • THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN made the “Top Films” list; Colin Farrel took Best Actor, Brendan Gleeson won for Best Supporting Actor, and Martin McDonagh won for Best Original Screenplay
