PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE, MARRIAGE STORY, & PARASITE Receive Golden Globes Nods
As awards season continues to heat up, the nominations keep coming for PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE, MARRIAGE STORY and PARASITE, all of which are in the running for Golden Globes across several categories.
PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE, Celine Sciamma’s visually stunning film about a slow burning romance between a female painter and her noblewoman patron, is up for Best Motion Picture - Foreign Language. PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE was the Centerpiece Screening at this year’s Woodstock Film Festival.
Netflix and Noah Bambauch’s divorce juggernaut MARRIAGE STORY is in competition for multiple awards including Best Screenplay - Motion Picture and Best Motion Picture - Drama. Stars Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson, and Laura Dern all received nods for their performances, with Driver being nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama, Johansson Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama, and Dern for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture respectively. MARRIAGE STORY was the Closing Night Film at Woodstock.
Last but certainly not least, Korean director Bong Joon Ho’s biting social commentary PARASITE, which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes, has been nominated for several awards including Best Motion Picture - Foreign Language, Best Screenplay - Motion Picture, and Best Director - Motion Picture. PARASITE also screened at Woodstock this year and was a staff favorite.
