About OH YEAH! and director:

The story of the iconic electronic music group Yello and their cult classic 1980s hit song. Oh Yeah is one of the most recognizable songs of all time, made famous by Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and embodies 80s American culture more than any other song. This film explores the cultural phenomenon of Oh Yeah and its enduring place in the American psyche, while introducing the unique artists behind the music.

Nick Canfield is an award winning documentary director whose films frequently cover music and its influence on culture and society. He developed an intimate observational style as a cinematographer and archivist for legendary filmmaker Albert Maysles. His first film, the feature music documentary THE REVEREND, streamed on The Criterion Channel, was distributed theatrically, and won the Audience Award at DOC NYC. OH YEAH! premiered at the Tribeca Festival, was released by Documentary+ and Rolling Stone Films, and made its Hudson Valley Premiere at the 2025 Woodstock Film Festival. 

About FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF (1986):

Director: John Hughes

Starring: Matthew Broderick, Mia Sara, Alan Ruck, Jeffrey Jones, Ben Stein, Edie McClurg, Jennifer Grey, and Charlie Sheen. 

A brash, cocky high school senior, tired of skipping school to spend a boring day at home, is determined to enjoy an epic day roaring around his favorite Chicago sites, enlisting his best friend and girlfriend to join him on the adventure.
