The acclaimed Chilean documentary filmmaker Maite Alberdi follows her Oscar-nominated film The Mole Agent with the gorgeous, deeply human story of Augusto and Paulina, two powerhouse cultural figures, who have been in love 25 years. As Augusto’s own memory begins to shift and morph, we visit his decades-long battle to recover his nation’s memories, buried during years of dictatorship. Winner, Sundance Film Festival. (Chile, 2023, 85m)
Co-presented with Upstate Films: Starr Cinema. Screening followed by Q&A with director Maite Alberdi and subject Paulina Urrutia, hosted by filmmakers Pamela Yates and Paco de Onis.
“One of the most selfless and patient forms of love that graced our screens … magnified through pockets of joy that Alberdi’s camera celebrates with a generous side of empathy and sense of humor.”
