A Field Guide to the Woodstock Film Festival

In anticipation of the 27th annual Woodstock Film Festival (WFF), the WFF team has partnered with Good Neighbor, the Kingston-based independent arts, culture, and community publication, to produce a limited-edition, collectible zine to highlight festival venues, screenings, and special events taking place across the mid-Hudson Valley during festival week in October.

Slated for an early-October release and appropriately titled A Field Guide to the Unknown, this collaboration acts as a seasonal guidebook for visitors and locals who plan to attend the Woodstock Film Festival, including both returning guests and first time attendees.

“Our first-ever festival zine is a fresh and exciting way to introduce people to WFF and the incredible independent films and filmmakers we champion, especially those who may be discovering the festival for the first time. We’re so excited to work closely with local organizations like Good Neighbor and our zine sponsors, who are equally dedicated to bringing creative opportunities and cultural experiences to our region.” – Casey O’Connell, WFF’s Marketing and Communications Director

Spotlighting locally produced films, local filmmakers, and must-see screenings alongside nearby places to eat, drink, shop, and explore around the Hudson Valley, the zine will also include information on this year’s newest discounts available for residents; a foldout poster mapping out our favorite stops across Woodstock, Kingston, Rosendale, and Saugerties; and a fun Horoscope section with fest recommendations based on your astrological sign!

“At Good Neighbor, we believe in the power of connection and collaboration. Our partnership with the Woodstock Film Festival exemplifies those values, not just by highlighting the people and places of our corner of the Hudson Valley, but by showing what's possible when local organizations create together.” – Adriana Wong, Good Neighbor’s Director of Community and Programming

The WFF and Good Neighbor teams will debut the zine a week before the festival kicks off, at a special release party at Unicorn Bar on Thursday, October 8 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Stop by to purchase your copy and celebrate the upcoming festival amongst our community! The event is free and open to the public – please RSVP to attend.

We thank our generous sponsors for making this possible:

“A Field Guide to the Unknown” will be available while supplies last at select events, the WFF box office, and participating venues throughout the festival.
