This past Saturday, the Woodstock Film Festival held a special screening of Giuseppe Capotondi’s upcoming thriller THE BURNT ORANGE HERESY at Upstate Films Woodstock.
Starring Donald Sutherland, Mick Jagger, Claes Bang, and Elizabeth Debicki, the film follows a washed up art critic and his mysterious American lover as they travel to lavish Italian villa on Lake Como to steal a painting from a reclusive artist.
Attending the sold-out event was the film’s producer and Woodstock resident Bill Horberg, who stayed after the credits for a lively Q&A with audience members. Horberg spoke at length about the persistence required to get the film financed as well as the extensive casting process that led to rock legend Mick Jagger joining the project to play the role of eccentric art collector Joseph Cassidy.
Leaving the screening were a few freshly-minted fans of the film, with one local gallery owner posting on Facebook: “The Burnt Orange Heresy is the best movie I have seen in a very long time! Mick Jagger AND Donald Sutherland play art world characters so intensely well, It has made me re-evaluate all my life choices-Opens next week- go see it!”
THE BURNT ORANGE HERESY hits theaters on March 6th courtesy of Sony Pictures Classics.
