A Message from the Woodstock Film Festival

Dear colleagues and friends,

Our thoughts are with the many film festivals around us who had to make the difficult decision to postpone or close including: SXSW, TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL, SAN FRANCISCO FILM FESTIVAL, HOT DOCS FILM FESTIVAL, RIVERRUN FILM FESTIVAL, MONTCLAIR FILM FESTIVAL, and so many more. With the filmmakers who worked long and hard to get ready for their exciting world premieres and now have to figure out a new release strategy. With the many movie theaters shutting down for the foreseeable future, including ALL movie theaters in NYC and LA, Upstate Films in Woodstock and Rhinebeck, and so many more across the country and the globe.

With the restaurants who now offer curbside service, such as Catskill Mountain Pizza, Joshua’s and Dixon Roadside in Woodstock, and ALL restaurants in NYC now offering take-out or delivery only. With the parents whose children are home due to school closings. With the college students who have to finish their studies online, including at all the SUNY colleges, and with the professors who have to figure out how to teach their students online. With the health care providers who are on the front lines, taking care of all those in need. And with everyone whose health, well-being and financial security are affected by the COVID - 19 pandemic.

We are all in this together and we will get through it!

Stay healthy, wash your hands, maintain social distancing, and if you are able to, help those around you who are in need. Currently, the Woodstock Film Festival office is closed, but we are working from home, so feel free to reach out!

See you (in a few weeks) at the movies!
