Nestled in the woods of the Hudson Valley, a live action role-playing camp invites teens from all over the country to spend a week fantasizing about different worlds and different lives. During the intensive multi-day campaign filled with improv, healers, fairies, villains, Gods, and queens being dethroned, We Can Be Heroes follows real life campers on their fantastical journey about what it means to live authentically yourself and find a place to belong. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:
Carina Mia Wong is an Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker and journalist. Her work has appeared on HBO, Hulu, National Geographic, Vice News and The New York Times. She's driven to tell stories that highlight the misunderstood, the complexity of healing and the psychology of understanding.

Alex Simmons recently directed Dear... for Apple TV+ (Oprah Winfrey, Jane Goodall, and Mindy Copeland) and Trafficked for National Geographic. His debut narrative feature, Buddymoon, won the Audience Award at Slamdance. He is a co-founder of Muck Media, where he was on the producing team of Science Fair.
